Workshop organised by Patrícia Nogueira (LabCom/UBI) and held on the 12th and 19th of October 2023, from 9:00am to 12:00pm and from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, in the Council Room of the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Beira Interior.

According to Lacan, it is through the mirror, or by its reflection, that we identify ourselves and create an identity. For centuries, the image of Women was centered on heteronormative ideals, as an object of desire and of other people's gaze. However, women’s self-determination achieved in the meantime unfolds in a kaleidoscope of multiple reflections, images, and identities.

In this workshop we explore self-representation through cinema as an act of creation and exploration of the Self. Through images and sounds combined to create reflections of a self-image – created and recreated – we aim at building alternative narratives, as the result of a solid and unshakable image.
