Patrícia Nogueira is Cinema Assistant Professor at the Beira Interior University and integrated researcher at ICNOVA – iNOVA Media Lab. She has a PhD in Digital Media from the UT Austin-Portugal international program, specializing in Audiovisual and Interactive Content Creation, and a master’s in Photography and Documentary Film. In 2015 she was in residence at the National Film Board of Canada, and in 2016 she was a visiting scholar at the Department of Film at the Texas University in Austin. She began working in the film industry in 2004 in the production of fiction feature films, and since 2010 she has been dedicated to her own documentary projects making. She serves as a jury in ICA competitions and in many film festivals. She is co-director of the International Documentary Film Festival MDOC and of the research group CCVA – Cinema and Contemporary Visual Arts, at NECS. Her research interests focus on all forms of documentary – authorial, experimental, interactive, expanded –, on Feminist Theories of Cinema and on Digital Culture.
