Caterina Cucinotta is FCT Researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History, Lisbon Nova University where she coordinates the research group "Cultures, Identities and Power". A PhD in Film Studies from the Nova University of Lisbon (2015), she has extensive experience in both teaching and costume design in film. She is the author of Viagem ao cinema através do seu vestuário (2018) and the visual essay De la Femme (2021), among other publications. She is a member of the editorial board (video essay section) of Eikon, Revista de Semiótica e Cultura (University of Beira Interior). Her research is in the field of clothing studies, with a particular interest in the stories behind the lines, materiality in Film Studies, and gender issues behind the camera. She is currently Associate Professor at King Juan Carlos University in Madrid.
