Fátima Chinita

Fátima Chinita is an Adjunct Professor at the IPL Lisbon School of Theater and Cinema, where she has taught since 1995. She teaches Film Studies and Film Narratives in graduation and post-graduation courses. She publishes on cinema, film narratives, intermediality and interart studies, essay film, and metacinema. She holds a PhD in Artistic Studies from the Faculty of Arts at the Lisbon University; a master’s in Communication Sciences from FCSH at the Lisbon Nova University; a bachelor’s in Cinema from the School of Theatre and Cinema and a graduation in Modern Languages and Literatures from the School of Arts and Humanities at Lisbon University. She completed in 2019 a postdoctoral fellowship in Intermediality and Interarts at IMS – Research Centre for Intermediality and Multimodality (Linnéuniversitet, Sweden) and at LabCom – Communication and Arts (UBI, Portugal) with a scholarship from FCT. In April 2022, she received the Excellence Award of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon in the category of Scientific Awards, from the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon and CGD, in "Arts" and is an integrated researcher at ICNOVA of the New University of Lisbon.
